ALLEN COUNTY, KENTUCKY CLERK OF COURT OFFICE

The clerk of court is an elected official who serves a 6 year term. ​​​Circuit court clerks are responsible for managing the records of Circuit and District courts, Kentucky’s trial courts. Circuit court clerks receive lawsuits and court documents, record legal documents, provide legal documents and other legal materials, are present during trials, schedule juries, receive and disburse money, maintain the jury system, administer oaths and handle affidavits.

ALLEN COUNTY, KENTUCKY COUNTY CLERK/RECORDER DATABASE

Duties of the County Clerk:

Provides professional, efficient, and attentive service to the people it serves

Acts as Vital Statistics registrar including birth, death, marriage, divorce, and military veteran’s discharge records

Acts as the chief election official of the county and files voter registration records

Records and indexes deeds, mortgages, and liens

Records vehicle and boat registrations as well as renewals

Files notary applications

RECORDS SEARCH AND PUBLIC RECORDS REQUEST

Public land and deed records are available online using the clerk’s database. An account must be made to search records. Records can be searched using the name on the document, the address of the land, or the parcel number.

For all other records, a record request form can be submitted to the county clerk’s office. A detailed description of the record being requested and the name on the record is needed.

Requests can be submitted to the clerk’s office in person, by mail, fax, or email.
