Clerk of courts are elected officials of the court who serve a 6 year term. They are responsible for the custody, control, and safe storage of all judicial records associated with circuit and district courts. In addition to storing records, the clerk is responsible for all circuit criminal, circuit civil, district civil, small claims, juvenile adoption, probate, traffic, misdemeanor, felony, and mental health cases.
