Duties of the County Clerk:

Files Assumed Name and Co-partnership Certificates

Acts as Clerk of the Circuit Court, maintains all court cases filings, administers oaths and is keeper of Circuit Court Seal which is used to certify over 300 different documents

Register of Vital Statistics, including birth and death certificates

Issues marriage licenses and performs marriage ceremonies

Processes payments for filing fees and copies of records

Chief Election Official for the County and supervises elections, receives and files county petitions, serves as member of County Election Commission and is Clerk of the County Board of Canvassers

Prepares Minutes of the Board Meetings, and presents communications

Issues Concealed Weapons permits, filing Assumed Name Certificates for businesses, processing Notary Public applications
