Duties of the County Clerk:
All deeds, mortgages, plats, oil leases, liens, and other papers relating to land and minerals should be kept on file and recorded. The County Clerk’s archives date back to the post-Land Run land patent filings.
You will handle all purchase orders and payments as the county’s purchasing agent.
Assist in processing all county employee payroll, retirement, and insurance as the Payroll Clerk for the county.
assist the Board of County Commissioners, Excise Board, Equalization Board, and Tax Roll Correction Board as secretary and record keeper.
Maintain the county’s financial ledgers.
Duties of the Recorder:
Public records are created and maintained by the County Recorder’s Office. We preserve these records according to the most recent archival practices and give the general public easy access. Maintaining a voter registration system and an early voting procedure also gives citizens access to the electoral process.
Managing judicial records for civil, criminal, and probate cases
in charge of jury selection
collects penalties and fees for commitments, both present, and past
regulating voter registration
